Oh wow! This book made me think. Is this author able to see into the future? Afterall, the book was published in 2013. As I said, thought-provoking. Truth is stronger and stranger than any fiction we can imagine. That is except for Troy Stroops. This book that is not only current to today's climate but a great read. With each turn of the page, I was amazed at the author's ability to weave a story from several different directions. I couldn't put the book down and read in two days. I hope there is a follow-up book. Five well-earned stars!Product details

When I first started to read it I thought "Oh, Christ. This will be a chore". It wasn't until the author wrote outside the first person tense that I noticed how well written the book had become. Then switching back into the character of Peter Kane I realized the style was because of the character's limitations and not the author's vocabulary. What a gem.
Very deep in sections; I came to respect the agenda of the fundamentalist movement...maybe even fear it...
Troy Stoops delivers again with this timely, action-packed thriller. But this is not for the faint-hearted. Journalist Peter Kane is in for the fight of his life as he uncovers a secret segment of society that plans to take over the United States and destroy anyone who stands in their way. The presidential election is at stake as is the ideology of a nation that is severely divided into secular vs. spiritual camps. What follows is both surprising and frightening and may change the way you think about American society. Stoops depicts an epic battle between good and evil against a backdrop awash in blood, brutality, guns, and God. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I have to say I almost didn't get past the first few pages. When I read the quotes on those pages I thought to myself, 'Oh no a fundamentalist religious novel'. I am very glad I decided to give it a chance. I found the book to be well written and very engaging. I found the characters to be well developed and the story line well thought out. The only issue I had with the book was that the author tended to go "all Hollywood" during some of the action scenes. I chalked it down as artistic license. I like things to be described as they would be in the real world.
I have to agree with Emily's take on the Dominionists. My opinion is that extremists of any flavor are a bad idea. Religious extremists are the worst of the lot. I found the take on them in this book was excellent.
This book was an excellent read. I would highly recommend it.
I have no idea what the he** this guy was talking about. This book is so convoluted & weird that it is hard to read. I finished it, (why I don't know) perhaps to see if the final chapters would finally clear up what the heck the point was, but alas - no dice.
Then there is an epilogue that leads the reader to think there might be some answers here. No such luck - the epilogue introduces characters that I don't remember reading about in the book itself, doing I don't know what. If you like a nice mystery with an easy to follow story line and plot - this is not for you.
I get books from the mystery and thriller sections and books rated 4+ stars. I read only one chapter of this book and put it aside. I don’t find any thing thrilling or mysterious about this book.
A book should hold me to the edge of my seat from the beginning and get me engrossed in it that I don’t want to put it down. May be others who gave it 5 stars found it thrilling, buy I cant continue reading a book that dose nothing that excites me
What a fantastic read! It was hard to put down. This book is very intelligent and thought provoking. The characters have depth and the story is well written. Mr. Stoops is a very talented writer. I would highly recommend this book.
