JK Brandon is to blame for my recent loss of sleep. I read The Steel Violin and was hooked from page 2. I finished that book in two evenings then, like getting that first hit of a new drug, I bought The Kennedy Rifle and ran through it page by page in the morning, at work and at night. Next day at lunch I was done and, like a junkie looking for the next score, I downloaded A Kind Word and a Gun.Brandon keeps the action in his stories moving from page to page better than Mickey Spillane. The stories are well plotted and unlike some other eBooks from best selling authors I haven't found an error in editing or writing in any of the stories.
Brandon has a knack for filling out a character so that you never notice him doing it. The characters come to life and make you want to know more without having to do the work of reading. The only other author to do that to me was Robert Parker. I hope Brandon has a long and prolific writing career and I've been patiently waiting now for a month wondering when book 4 of the series is going to show up.
I've now got two problems, the first is waiting for the next Michael Cole book to hit Amazon. The second is my preoccupation whenever I'm in Phoenix trying to spot the hottie on the Michael Cole front covers walking around Walmart.

Just finished the latest book in the M. Coles series and loved it! Had me on a rollercoaster throughout. Can't wait for the next book! Considering reading the other series by JK Brandon but trying not to get hooked.
The story line and the characters are great. But all the intense descreption of the guns and homes of the victims is just a little to much. Nobody needs all that information. You loose the flow of the story trying to understand the mechanic of the weapons.
